IP Quality

这些请求会携带你的公网 IP(及标准 HTTP 元数据,如 User-Agent)。

IP Quality — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026 · Applies to the iOS app "IP Quality"

This Privacy Policy explains how "IP Quality" (the "App") handles data when you use it. We follow a data-minimization principle: the App has no backend server that collects your data, contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs, never sells data, and requires no account.

The App is a network diagnostics utility: it queries public IP information and measures connection speed through your current network exit. It is not a VPN, proxy, or accelerator, and it does not provide any means to bypass geographic restrictions or third-party terms of service.

1. Data the App Processes

1.1 Public IP & Network Information

When you start an "IP quality scan", the App sends an HTTPS request over your current network to the third-party public data source api.ipapi.is to retrieve your exit IP's reputation, risk score, carrier, network type, and coarse location derived from the IP (country / region / city level — not GPS).

During this process, your public IP address reaches ipapi.is as part of the network request. Results are shown only on-screen and are not uploaded to or retained on any server we control.

Risk scores and factors such as proxy / VPN / Tor / datacenter are for reference only and do not constitute a security, compliance, or availability conclusion.

1.2 Speed Test

When you start a speed test, the App exchanges test traffic with a measurement node to measure latency, download, and upload speed. The node is chosen automatically from the device system time zone (to pick a nearer path — not to collect precise location):

Test traffic is meaningless filler data and contains none of your personal content or files. Your public IP is inherently visible to the selected node. Data volume adapts to bandwidth and is typically on the order of about 15 MB per test.

1.3 Local Storage

The following are stored only on your device (iOS UserDefaults) and are never uploaded to any server we control:

1.4 Service Reachability Checks (may be disabled in the current build)

Some builds may include optional "service reachability" checks: when you start an IP quality scan, the App may send HTTPS requests to certain public sites/APIs to see whether they are reachable from your current exit, and show results only in the on-screen report. These checks do not sign in to your accounts and do not provide any ability to bypass geographic restrictions.

If the publicly shipped build has this feature disabled, those requests are not made. When enabled, the relevant third parties process network requests (including your IP) under their own policies.

2. What We Do Not Collect / Do

3. Third-Party Services

When you use the related features, the App may contact the following third parties. Requests include your public IP (and standard HTTP metadata such as User-Agent). The App does not share your name, email, Apple ID, or other identity data with them:

Third parties process requests under their own privacy policies and terms. See, for example:

4. Data Retention & Deletion

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or a higher age if required by local law) and does not knowingly collect their information.

6. International Data Transfers

When you look up IP data or use an overseas speed-test node, requests may reach servers outside your country or region. This is inherent to performing the diagnostic features, not a separate data-export business of ours.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may also note them in App release notes.
